Bruce, you have opened Pandora's box. Standards have called for bonding of thru hulls until very recently. This is a hold over from wooden boats. If you think back to your high school chemistry, bonding bronze through hulls and stainless steel shfts and rudder stocks sets up a battery in salt water. So remove the bond from your through hulls etc. However you still need a lightning ground for the mast and rigging. A thru hull is often used for this purpose but a large stainless or bronze plate would be more suitable.
