Sailing fast is fun. Flying past bigger boats is even more fun. Flat-out fast, with her huge cockpit and simple but enormously comfortable interior, the Pearson Flyer is priced well below other boats of similar size. She's the logical step up from any under-30 foot speedster. 2. For sail changes or sightseeing, her flush deck is a wonderful platform. Up there you tend to feel she's even bigger than she is. 3. Two-oversized quarter berths and two contoured salon berths function more like lounge furniture. Talk about wide-open spaces - the 11-foot beam and thru-hull ports produce a panoramic effect. Galley activities are part of the action. Sink to starboard, alcove for optional stove to port. Through the mahogany bulkhead, with its zippered privacy curtain, is the head and a sail stowage area that can hold every sail rules will permit - and then some. Cabin sole is teak and holly. Other woodwork is a rich, impeccably finished mahogany. 4. Clean lines. And a clean deck. Nicest place in town to take a sun bath! 5. Horsepower. The dimensions of her rig have been maximized to produce 456 sq. ft. of sail area driving just a shade over 6,000 pounds. The power-to-weight ratio is tremendous. No wonder she flies! 6. The 8-foot long cockpit takes a racing crew of six, the family, or just a fast crowd. And all lines lead aft to the cockpit to make this easy sailing even easier |
