The Pearson 424 was designed and built for the yachtsman who's probably owned several previous boats, sailed aboard numerous others, and is ready for the ultimate sailing yacht with genuine cruising accommodations.

Perfect for lounging and discussing the next day's sail, the main salon is a comfortable, elegant marriage of the modern and the traditional.

The 360 degrees cockpit is decidedly spacious and functional. With sail lockers port and starboard, propane bottle locker with outboard drain, winch alcoves.and a lazarette aft.

In the spacious master cabin aft is the owner's plush double berth with generous stowage above and below, and a large hanging locker opposite.

The 424 will bring out the explorer in you. Her navigation center can be fitted out accordingly.

Look at her foredeck to get some idea of how well built the 424 is.

The 424 is a modern classic intended to satisfy the timeless requirements of the knowledgeable cruising skipper. Responsive, luxurious but sensible, her design maximizes the use of 42 feet.

You'll be impressed with the handwork in the interiors. The 424's design and her New England craftsmanship have made belowdeck areas light, airy, functional, warm and rich.

In the beautifully finished galley there's room for the highest culinary ambitions. Lockers and drawers for everything. Plenty of counter space. And an opening hatch overhead.

The main salon is traditional, soft, plush, and inviting. Notice the cutlery bin built into the permanently mounted table. Let the outside in through the opening hatch overhead.

The 424 will make the most out of whatever Mother Nature gives her. She's deceptively fast yet easy to sail.

The head is actually two rooms. The separate shower stall features a seat with a built-in soak tub underneath.

Everything about her is built or installed to go to sea, for extended periods if you like; everything is engineered to keep you out of the bilges and rigging for as long as you own her. She is, in other words, the consummate cruiser.

When you've arrived at "the 424 stage" of boating, you want the speed to get you where you're going in the kind of comfort that will let you sail that way for days on end.

The spacious forward cabin includes a dressing table with wash basin, a seat, hanging locker, and bureau. Roomy and civilized, as it should be.

The view from the wheel: visibility excellent; wide walkways for easy access forward; well placed winches; full-length bulwarks for extra security. Take the helm.she's a lot of boat.

A distant anchorage. A beautiful evening. What more could you ask for?

Don't just dream about times like these.
