the Boat

Professionals who specialize in such things will tell you that successful companies build to the needs of their customers and, frankly, that's what the new 303 is all about - a boat that we feel fits the real sailing needs of a large number of yachtsmen. Based on this perceived need the design parameters were laid down as follows:

  1. A really big boat in the 30 foot range that sails at low angles of heel, has a shallow draft, and excellent sailing qualities across a wide range of wind conditions.

  2. An easily driven boat that can be handled easily by a couple or a young family. No attempt should be made to build to a racing rule so she should have good performance characteristics without sacrificing interior space. To be brief, she's an honest, do-anything cruising boat for those trading up from smaller boats that may not have had inboard or diesel power. On the other hand, the new 303 is an efficient boat for experienced or inexperienced sailors alike whose families have flown the coop and who now find it's time for things a little more convenient and simple. Elegant and easy!

We think the new 303 fits the mold. Her cockpit is big and deep, she sleeps six with a double quarter berth and, quite frankly, she's as big as a house considering her overall length - a lot of boat for the money. Come Sail With Us.

One real measure of a boat isn't how long she is - but how livable she is.

And if you had preconceived options on the amount of livability a 30-footer could provide, the new Pearson 303 will open your eyes.

She's big. Headroom is 6'3" throughout. Her ample beam allows for a bigger cockpit, gives you a walk-in stateroom forward, an extra-large head, and it lets us give you a legitimate double quarter berth. You wind up with two double-berth cabins, separated by one superbly comfortable main salon!

The 303 interior is light (accented warmly by oiled teak) and as maintenance free as we could make her. Pick from a variety of fabrics, in colors that are rich, and in patterns that complement the 303's contemporary styling.
